Creative Doodling Classes

Beginner Classes 1 - 4.

 Creative Doodling Basics - 2 hour Class 

                          In this class you will learn the basic principles of Creative Doodling. How to follow pattern instructions. You will be taught some basic patterns you will be able to use on many other projects. You will create a beautiful flower and doodle it.

 Shading Basics - 2 hour class

                         You will be taught the basic principles of shading. These basic principles will allow you to make items look rounded, concave, as though the piece on top is casting a shadow over the item below, and how achieve depth in your pictures. These are very easy steps to learn, no artistic skill required for this. You will also be taught more doodle patterns and create a beautiful picture.

 A Splash of Colour - 2 hour class

                           In this class you will learn how colour will enhance your design, what colour to use and how to mix and match colours. How colour can be used the same as shading to give the illusion of depth, curved surfaces and overlapping. We will also use stencils and templates to add variety to your work. You will learn more doodle patterns and finish another wonderful piece of art.

 Pattern De-construction/Design - 2 hour class

                 Patterns can be found in nature and are also man made. We will look at how to design and construct your own simple doodle patterns. Also how to deconstruct patterns we find, to make them simple to draw over and over again. Your final art piece will be a combination of all you have learnt over the 4 classes and include many of your own Creative Doodles. 

Advanced Classes

Canvas Shoes - Bring a pair of shoes to class and we will decorate them with colour and with doodles.

Celtic Knot Classes - 3 x 2 hour classes 

 

Lesson 1 - Freehand Celtic Knots

Learn to draw easy celtic knots style designs. Lots of fun and you can let your imagination run wild. Colouring and Shading methods is taught in this class also.

 

 

 

Lesson 2 - Celtic Mandalas

Learn to convert beautiful mandala designs into celtic knots style designs.

 

 

Lesson 3 - Traditional Celtic Knots with a Twist

Learn about traditional celtic knots and how to draw them properly, and then learn the many ways to vary this method to get new and unusual designs.

 

 

 

ScanNCut with Fabric Classes - 6 hours

These 6 hour classes are held at Sewco Macgregor

 

Lesson 1 - How to scan, cut and draw designs from fabric and books.

                  Basic maintenance & how to use the scan and cut.

                  Cutting 2 applique designs from fabric.

                  Enlarging designs and how to select specific sections to scan & cut.

                 

 

 

Learn to scan & enlarge small alphabet letters and separate the sections to cut in different colours.

Learn to select which sections of a busy fabric print you want to cut with the ScanNCut.

 



 

 

 

Learn to scan & separate inside sections of a designs to cut in different colours.

 



 

 

Lesson 2 - How to use the Rhinestone Kit.

                  How to use ScanNCut Canvas. This is a very comprehensive lesson, teaching you how to make your own original designs by converting those designs already installed into this program, as well as how to use all the design tools that come with ScanN -Cut Canvas.

Learn to use the designs installed in ScanNCut Canvas, change them if you like and also create other rhinestone designs from the basic shapes, text and logos in this program.

  

 

 

Learn to use all these tools that are provided by ScanNCut Canvas, and get lots of ideas of where to use them.

 

 

 

Learn to create this runner using the basic shapes in ScanNCut Canvas and alter them with the vector tools in this program to get what you want.

 

 

 

 

Lesson 3 - How to use the applique and quilting designs installed the the ScanNCut to create very beautiful and original applique and quilting designs.

                  How to use the basic shapes in ScanNCut to create Tessalation Designs for quilting.

 

ScanNCut with Paper  - 6 hours

These 6 hour classes are held at Scrap Elegance and Stampers Wonderland

 

Lesson 1 - How to scan, cut and draw designs.

                  Basic Maintenance & how to use the ScanNCut.

                  How to cut, paper, card, adhesive vinyl, chipboard and mylar (used in stencil making).

                  We will produce a card, scrapbook page layout, stencil and vinyl sticker sheet as part of the days activities.
